Senior School at UWA
Grade 9 to Grade 12IGCSE followed by the IB Diploma Programme or Cambridge AS and A Levels
Senior School at UWA runs in two stages. Grades 9 and 10 work towards Cambridge IGCSE, building a strong academic foundation while students think independently, apply what they know and communicate their ideas with clarity. From there, Grades 11 and 12 follow either the IB Diploma Programme or Cambridge International AS and A Levels — two established, internationally recognised routes into university.

Grades 9 and 10 | Cambridge IGCSE
In Grades 9 and 10, students work towards Cambridge IGCSE qualifications at UWA, a Cambridge IGCSE school in Bangalore. This stage builds a strong academic foundation while encouraging students to think independently, apply what they know and communicate their ideas with clarity.
Lessons combine subject knowledge with discussion, investigation, practical work and regular feedback. Students learn to manage increasing academic demands, recognise their strengths and consider the choices ahead. IGCSE in Grades 9 and 10 prepares them for advanced study in either the Cambridge AS and A Level pathway or the IB Diploma Programme.

Grades 11 and 12 | Cambridge International AS and A Levels
Cambridge International AS and A Levels allow students to study selected subjects in greater depth. This pathway offers a focused academic experience for students who want to build strong expertise in areas connected to their interests and future plans.
Students are expected to analyse complex ideas, use evidence, develop reasoned arguments and work with increasing independence. Teachers support them through the demands of advanced study and guide them as they prepare for university and the opportunities beyond school.

Grades 11 and 12 | IB Diploma Programme
The IB Diploma Programme in Bangalore (IB DP) offers a broad and challenging course of study across six subject groups. Alongside their subjects, students complete the Diploma Programme core: Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).
The IBDP for Grades 11 and 12 encourages students to make connections across disciplines, ask thoughtful questions and undertake independent research. It also gives them opportunities to engage with their communities and reflect on their experiences. At UWA, students receive guidance as they balance these commitments and prepare for their next steps.
