The EYFS Framework is based on four themes

EYFS Prime and Specific Areas of Development

Prime areas are fundamental, work together, and move through to support development in all other areas.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Children are learning about their own feelings and building relationships throughout their school day.

Communication and Language

We encourage active participation through listening and speaking.

Physical Development

Our school day gives ample opportunities for play and we have scheduled slots for sports and free play. Children also learn yoga which promotes their mind-body awareness and connection.

The EYFS Specific areas include essential skills and knowledge for children to participate successfully in society.

Literacy

Our children learn through a systematic phonics program and have extensive lessons in reading, writing and grammar. We encourage individual and group reading to promote vocabulary, conceptual understanding and decoding.

Mathematics

Our Math lessons prepare children to have strong numerical reasoning and computational understanding. Children learn with the use of manipulatives and are given multiple opportunities to make real life connections with numerical reasoning.

Understanding the World

Our carefully built thematic lessons give children a strong understanding of the world around them through in-depth exploration of topics through themes. This enables them to make connections to real life and the interconnections in the world around them.

Expressive Arts and Design

Our children have art, music and dance classes to enable them to tap into their creativity and explore the world through their senses.
